Timothy J. Bechen is a Partner in the law firm of
Ostrow Kaufman & Frankl LLP.
Mr. Bechen manages the trademark practice at Ostrow, Kaufman & Frankl.
He has extensive experience in all Trademark matters, including
consulting with clients on initial mark selection and clearance
procedures, as well as representing clients in trademark prosecution
before the Trademark office. Mr. Bechen has experience with licensing
client trademarks, as well as negotiating with third-parties regarding
trademark rights. Mr. Bechen also has experience in working with clients
to manage their trademark rights via litigation, when necessary.
Mr. Bechen has extensive experience in all aspects of patent prosecution
matters including patent acquisition, re-examination, and patent
validity and infringement opinions. He also has expertise in patent
litigation matters, including pre-litigation analysis. Mr. Bechen has
experience in licensing and Intellectual Property due diligence related
to mergers and acquisitions.
His work focuses primarily on clients in the telecommunications and
computer industries, including software, hardware and graphics
processing environments. He also has extensive experience in
business-based methodology matters.
Mr. Bechen was the first graduate of the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial
Center, focusing on high technology start-up companies. Prior to law
school, Mr. Bechen began his own not for profit company entitled Cancer
Research Network, which worked to provide computers and web-based
content to cancer patients and their families.
In addition to the practice of law, Mr. Bechen is a marathoner and
triathlete. Mr. Bechen and his wife, Jenna, have 2 sons, Patrick and
Connor.
